Anindita was born and brought up in Tripura, North East, India. After she finished her bachelor degree from Govt. College of Art and Craft in Tripura she had moved to Hyderabad in 2007 to pursue her Masters in Fine Arts from University of Hyderabad.
Her work is autobiographical and encompassed with self-portraiture. It is an identity politics, and we all have our way of constructing our identity as an individual. Her art practice shows the constant investigation of self, introspection or questioning self in a positive approach. The binary character inside her and disagreement with self assist her in interpreting with different expressions. Her works are anecdotes of her personal life. Her perception of her surroundings and how she treat colors define certain qualities of her. She believe self-investigation is a never-ending process that flaws like a river.
She is one of the recipient of Shrishti-AIF grant, 2020. She has received South Zone Silver medal award in the category of painting, Kalanand Art Contest, 2017 and 2008-2009 Young Talented Artists Award, for outstanding achievement in the field of Painting, North East zone cultural centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Apart from that she has also received Junior Fellowship, in the field of Visual Art, Sub-Field Painting by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India 2016-2017. She was invited by Kashi art residency, Kerala, 2010, Space118 studio, Mumbai, 2013 and Kalakriti artist in residency program, Hyderabad 2016. In 2021 she was part of a collaborative textile and drawing project called Verna’N’, which was exhibited in Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad. She was part of a group exhibition called “Sublime Transferences” curated by Nanak Ganguly at Emami Art Gallery, Kolkata. She had group exhibition at Lalith Kala Academy art gallery by Niracharthu , Thrissur, Kerala. She is one of the participated artist in the project title ‘The Dot that went for a walk’ an educational initiative to create a Children’s Book with short stories of 51 inspirational women of India, the book was launched at the Royal Opera House in Mumbai followed by an exhibition in Mumbai and Hyderabad by Shrishti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, India. She had exhibited with Galerie88, Kolkata, Anant art gallery, Delhi, Art Gallery in Kaunas, Lithuania, Exhibition at Korean Cultural Centre, Delhi, Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, Goethe-Zentrum, German Cultural Centre, Hyderabad, Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke, Mumbai, Contemplate Gallery, Coimbatore, SKE gallery, Bangalore, India. She is teaching as a guest faculty at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad and continuing her practice.
